I have taken a lot of maternity photo sessions at the beach, more so this year than others, and sometimes I just don’t have the time to search for different spots when I am there. (I’m a busy mamma of two young kiddos working two full-time jobs – I know, I am crazy)! But thanks to my good friend and fellow photographer Sam, he was able to show me a few new locations before this session thanks to the ever longing days of summer and those late sunset times. Boy, did it pay off for Chelsea and Jacob!
Chelsea, Jacob and big brother Callum are soon welcoming another baby boy to their tribe and these photos at the beach turned out wonderfully as we captured the last few moments as a family of three. Chelsea came dressed in the perfect floral dress by Pink Blush, and we started off playing in the sand at the Disc Golf Course at Cape Henlopen State Park. Callum had a blast! Those little toes hadn’t touched the sand in a year and he was happy to be barefoot running through the dunes.
We ended the session over on the shore at Herring Point and Mother Nature helped us out with a beautiful golden sunset. But you know you can never have your cake and eat it too (sometimes) so because it was such a warm day down at the beach, the biting flies were out on the town and ready to pounce as the sun went down. Chelsea was a champ as we ended the session in one of my maternity gowns, fighting gnats and flies left and right. But you could never tell by how beautiful their images turned out. Check out a few of my favorite images from this maternity photo session at the beach!
