What is the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the words Palm Trees and Spanish Moss? The south! And that’s exactly where this Hilton Head Island, South Carolina maternity session took place. It’s amazing how much the foliage changes during a 10 hour drive out of your home state, and boy oh boy is it refreshing!

I didn’t have a whole lot of time to explore the island, but I am convinced the entire thing is made up of nothing but resorts! It was also much harder for me to find a place to shoot in unknown territory, but I knew I wanted Spanish Moss and Palms in the background, so that’s what I scanned for when I drove around. We ended up parking at a general store and shooting right on the bike/walking trail leading back to the resort to start. The trails had moss covered oak trees all around it as well as small palm trees peppered in between. When we left this spot, we headed straight to the closest beach and grabbed a few more before the wind got the best of us! We then ended the night by hitting the walking path right near the house we were staying in to get a few more in my pumpkin-orange gown to give her a tropical vibe to some of her images.
