It’s always a little extra special when a childhood friend asks you to capture such an important time in their life, such as waiting for the arrival of their first child. Allison and Mike wanted a place that was different from the beach but involved nature, so we headed to the Abbott’s Mill Nature Center in Milford and we had the perfect night for their maternity session.

I have known Allison pretty much my entire life. From dance class and school, to sleepovers at her parents house and running for our lives in fear of her next door neighbors car exploding when they revved it up! Haha! Okay, it probably wasn’t THAT loud as an adult, but when we were kids, it was pretty much the loudest thing I had ever heard. Anyway, it’s a little bittersweet to see all of our friends growing up, getting married and starting families. It seemed like only yesterday we were kids and talking about boys and playing with Ouija boards until we were scared out of our minds.

Allison and Mike are both teachers and they will be such great parents to their precious baby girl due in just a few short weeks. Check out some of my favorite images from their session at the Abbott’s Mill Nature Center, below!
